Every graduation season, families gather to capture a photograph that marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, a graduation photo in China captured widespread attention because of where it was taken from.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to China Daily, students and teachers from the School of Journalism and Communication at Changchun University of Technology held colourful paper boards to spell out the university’s English abbreviation, CCUT<\/strong>, creating a remarkable scene on the campus grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The image was captured by the Jilin-1 commercial remote-sensing satellite<\/strong>, orbiting approximately 500 kilometres above Earth<\/strong>, making it a graduation photograph quite literally “snapped from 500 km above Earth<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The technology is extraordinary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But perhaps the most remarkable thing isn’t the satellite itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the reminder that changing our perspective changes what we see.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, we need to step back before we can truly appreciate how far a child has come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
